Reverse Pitch at MATRC 2024

On April 14, 2024, an exciting opportunity unfolded as four startups showcased their health tech solutions at a conference supported by the Kepler Team and the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center. These innovative presentations addressed challenges posed by notable health systems: Christiana Care, Piedmont Health, and University of Kentucky.

The event marked a significant milestone in my personal and professional journey. After years of planning, this opportunity allowed us to bridge the gap between visionary startups and established health systems, fostering a platform for innovation and collaboration.

While the event was not without its challenges, it yielded several key insights:

  1. There is a genuine receptivity to innovative solutions, especially when the passion behind them is evident.

  2. Bridging communication gaps between providers and vendors is crucial and often requires active facilitation.

  3. When identifying problems, it’s essential to delve deeper than the initial understanding, uncovering core issues that may not be immediately apparent.

  4. Having challenge owners present their problems in person significantly enhances clarity and opens up new avenues for solution development.

I am currently preparing a video recap of the event, which will soon be available to further share our experiences and learnings. In the meantime, I extend my deepest gratitude to the participating startups: EMRAY (Olga Ryzhikova), Wholistic Health (Helen Pak-Harvey), Behaivior (Ellie Gordon), Jouneys Metabolic (Jim Howard), and Celbridge AI (Patrick Hogan and Michelle Hogan) for their invaluable contributions and pioneering spirit.
